The fish tank is back baby, you know it. Only one fish died in this weekends filter malfunction. It was one of the Bob exiles, it was gold. We never got close so I never learned its name. Anyway a new and improved filter is in. The Penguin Bio-Wheel 200. (applause) With a flow rate of 200 GPH, it scrubs the water 5 times per hour. Oooh, math. The 4 fish and one snail look alive and happy. And happy to be alive.

So I locked the cat in the basement.

It wasn’t on purpose. I was down there doing some work on the new server and she must have snuck down. I wouldn’t feel so bad if it wasn’t also me who let her out of the basement, 10 hours later. She was meowing right by the basement door.

The basement isn’t a friendly place. Right now its a construction zone. There are open bags of concrete mix, saws, and bits of broken glass on the floor. There’s black mold infesting the beams and drywall. The water table is about 2 inches below the basement floor. The word crisp doesn’t exist in the basement.

I try not to stay down there for more than an hour at a time. Anyway, Mikey washed her and shes fine. A little scared but she’s a tough cat.
